Ann-Maree, Tanya and Ridi attended the first new format BAWE UK meeting at the Lansdowne Club in Mayfair on Wednesday 22nd March. The Lansdowne Club (https://www.lansdowneclub.com/) is the former home of Harry Selfridge of Selfridges department store and now a private members club. An amazing building and close to Green Park for those travelling in to London from Heathrow or other locations.
The incoming President, Louise Oliver, and the rest of the committee were present apart from Bola Olabisi. Committee members for the UK are Louise Oliver (President),
Ann-Maree Morrison (Vice President and President of Scotland), Tanya Hine OBE (Treasurer), Gita Patel MBE, Sue Scott Horn, Patricia Rochford and Julie Marino.
The event was a great success with 36 invited and the editor of Harpers Bazaar, Connie Osborne, attending. As per usual, we had a number of high profile guests, some of whom cannot be mentioned, but among those present was a female business owner and hairdresser to many celebrities, the business partner of Charlotte Dujardin CBE (dressage) and those running a variety of businesses from and international trade development advisor to head of fraud investigations, businesses who target entrepreneurship for those over 50 (yes over 50!), etiquette businesses, a beauty product manufacturer and many others.
The next event will be a summer drinks party in Surrey in mid July, and the next networking lunch will be at the Lansdowne Club in mid October (to be advised on our events page). Keep the dates free once we release them as you will find it is well worth a trip to London for the day, or tie it in with a visit to business contacts down south. There were a number of new guests who have signed as members on the day and the plans for growing the group back to it’s former numbers are good. I look forward to help growing this from the Scottish end.
